Sidey has a range of dedicated fenestration solutions for student accommodation buildings, whether constructed on or offsite and has been a major part of the supply chain in many successful developments.
Working collaboratively with operators, design teams, offsite manufacturers and major constructors, the company has developed products to enable the offsite factory installation of the most robust and innovative windows and doors available on the market.
Using their patented KitFix® and Scratchguard™ systems they are able to support offsite manufactures who want to pre-install windows in a controlled factory environment prior to shipping the light gauge steel, timber or SIPS panels to site. Using the unique KitFix® sliding bracket system windows can be installed in a transport position within the depth of the panels to enable shipping to site in the traditional flat stacked manner. Once on site the windows are commissioned whereby they are slid into their final position, cills are clipped on and any final adjustment carried out.
Additional protection is given by the use of the unique Scratchguard™ system which involves spraying the glass units in Sidey’s manufacturing plant prior glazing the factory glazed frames and shipping to the offsite manufacturer. This coating remains on the windows providing anti-scratch protection until such time as the building is ready for handover.
With a particular understanding of the needs of both accommodation operators and the student trends Sidey’s innovative fenestration solutions include large opening lights and glazing areas, purge ventilation to mitigate overheating, integrated blind systems aimed at reducing whole life costs and low cost maintenance for facilities managers, Sidey’s student accommodation window and door range is ideal for those looking to design and build new accommodation.
Sidey is keen to work as part of the design team to both optimise the specification, design for either on or offsite installation and provide value engineering.
