Final programme announced for Cubo summer conference

As well as the 10th annual Cubo awards, delegates at the July conference can look forward to a wide range of speakers, headed by Baroness Floella Benjamin

A keynote speech from Baroness Floella Benjamin will be among the highlights of this summer’s Cubo (college and university business officers) conference, taking place at Lancaster University in July.

The final programme was announced at the end of last month for the July gathering, based around the theme of ‘Facing the future: reconnection and recovery’.

Other speakers addressing the delegates – directors, heads of service, managers of campus and commercial services, and corporate partners – will include: Professor Dame Sue Black, a forensic anthropologist and pro vice-chancellor for engagement at Lancaster University; Kate Nicholls, CEO of UKHospitality; and Sarah Mukherjee, the long-time BBC environment correspondent and now CEO of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment.

The other main highlight of the conference will be the 10th annual Cubo awards, a black tie awards ceremony on the Thursday evening, with gongs to be won across nine categories, including campus experience of the year, innovation in student housing and – a new category for this year – creativity in conferencing, events and hospitality.

  • The residence life phenomenon
  • The University of Glasgow catering subsidiary
  • The new normal for parcel management
