Entries open for new international e-Assessment Awards programme

Launched by the e-Assessment Association, the Awards will showcase the very best practice, research and innovation in e-assessment

Are you in the business of capturing or marking learner’s work using technology; an academic institution transforming assessment practices with technology; or are you researching the new ways that technology can transform assessment and learning? If so, then entering The e-Assessment Awards 2017 should be top of your to-do list!

The first international e-Assessment Awards programme has been launched by The e-Assessment Association (eAA) to showcase the very best practice, research and innovation taking place across e-assessment.

The eAA is a professional body that promotes better assessment of knowledge, skills and capabilities through technology. With members representing the whole of the sector – from schools, academics and institutions to technology providers and large corporates – the eAA has many connections across the world and seeks to strengthen these links through the awards programme. The awards present an opportunity to highlight and celebrate the outstanding use of technology to enhance assessment.

The awards, sponsored by PSI, hold a unique position, as they’re relevant to many sectors including workplace training, professional exams, schools, and further and higher education. So if you’re a business, institution or individual involved with e-assessment, then these awards are for you.

The use of edtech in education is widespread and growing, however, when it comes to assessment, the sector falls behind in its use of technology and paper examinations still dominate. The edtech community often talks and discusses e-learning, e-content, exciting new hardware and how technology can transform education, but while technology races ahead, and the growth in spend on technology for learning continually multiplies, the adoption of technology to enhance and improve assessment in education has been left behind.

However, in the 21st Century, technology forms part of our everyday lives, not only making processes more efficient and precise, but also in transforming the way we work. It is time for professionals and learners alike, to discuss and debate e-assessment and inspire each other across different sectors. These awards are a platform where this conversation can start to really take shape.
