Unite Students has been awarded Gold Status from Investors in People (liP). The accolade marks Unite out as a company that offers a great place to work with a clear commitment to developing employees.
Unite gained its initial IiP accreditation in 2008, followed by the silver award in 2011 for demonstrating a continuous improvement approach to all people matters/HR processes. Achieving Gold standard follows a comprehensive audit by liP assessors who evaluated Unite’s performance and approach to its workforce.
As well as employee interviews, engagement survey scores were scrutinised, digital channels assessed, and team meetings were attended to see first-hand how the business shares information, celebrates success and shares Unite’s vision and ambitions for the future.
Such a high level of accreditation is the sign of great people management practice, and demonstrates a commitment to staff development and shows an organisation committed to being the very best it can be
Paul Devoy, Head of Investors in People, said: “We’d like to congratulate Unite Students on their Gold standard. Such a high level of accreditation is the sign of great people management practice, and demonstrates a commitment to staff development and shows an organisation committed to being the very best it can be. Everyone at Unite Students should be extremely proud of their achievement.”
Commenting on the award, Unite Students operations HR Director, Ruth George, said: “We strive to develop the skills of our staff and to attract and retain the very best talent as this is a key strategy for the ongoing development and growth of Unite Students. This will help us achieve our core purpose which is to provide students with a safe and comfortable environment that enables them to achieve more during their time at university.
“We are delighted that Investors in People have recognised our commitment and are proud of our Gold award. Our success as a business is due to our employees and we value their dedication and commitment greatly.”
