They are home to the world’s largest online community of teachers, with 7.9 million registered users. This network is one of the fastest growing of any profession globally and helps to support, guide and inspire educators around the world.
We’ve pulled together the opinions and expertise of senior leaders on how technology can both inform and transform school processes to facilitate the difficult business of school management. On the digital hub, there are various pieces designed to help teachers benefit from the advice and guidance of these senior leaders. The hub also helps schools to stay up to date with the latest technology and develop in the digital era.

The first two articles on the TES Hub are written by Gerald Haigh. In the first, he looks at the work of Tom Rees – Head Teacher at Microsoft Showcase School Simon de Senlis Primary in Northampton – and how he is using Microsoft tools to transform his school and tech strategy. During Bett 2017, Tom spoke in the School Leader’s Summit about managing the sustainable growth of the Northampton Primary Academy Trust (now encompassing over 2.5k students across seven schools, all of which carry an Ofsted rating of Good or Outstanding), and how technology and data can be used to significantly impact the development of students at an individual level, as well as across an entire region.
Key to much of this is the use of Office 365 and Power BI integration, with Rees reflecting that “good tracking data enables better leadership and teaching”, while stressing the importance of being able to visualise and share all kinds of data around progress with parents.
