StudentCom’s boots are made for walking

StudentCom Management Team is taking part in Trek 50, a 50 mile-charity hike, and are embarking on more training for the big day

As Trek 50 draws closer, the team headed to Dartmoor for some well needed training. In spite of awful weather conditions, the team did well to cover 20 miles in just under 7 hours.

The actual event takes place on 21 June and challenges teams to cover 50 miles in just 24 hours.  The route will take them across the spectacular Pennine hills on the Lancashire Yorkshire borders and includes almost 8,000 feet of ascents, the equivalent of climbing Snowdon (3,506ft) and Ben Nevis (4,409ft). Out of the 33 teams that entered last year’s event, only 17 completed the course…

The team aims to raise £2,500 in sponsorship to support the work of two fantastic charities:

MedEquip4Kids which works with medical staff, community nurses and other registered charities to provide equipment and improve facilities in hospitals for children, and:

Make-A-Wish-Foundation which grants magical wishes to children with life threatening conditions.
