Leicester marketing agency helps Loughborough University launch a new campus in London with the design of

Loughborough University in London (LUiL) is the internationally renowned institution’s new postgraduate campus, which is due to open in 2015. Located at the heart of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, where athletes inspired the nation during the 2012 games, this dynamic location is a great setting for programmes centred on enterprise and innovation. With a great range of programmes, students of sport, business, media, creative and digital technologies will find this academic community particularly appealing.

After working with the University on a range of digital projects, Rock Kitchen Harris was the clear choice for the new website, as Mike Caine, Dean of Loughborough University in London explained:“We’ve always been extremely pleased with the work produced by Rock Kitchen Harris, so we were keen to get the team on board for this project. Loughborough University in London is an exciting and important step for our postgraduate offering, so it was vital that we had an agency on board that we could trust. The new website certainly doesn’t disappoint.” 

Rock Kitchen Harris was tasked with the challenge of building a great website that effectively communicates Loughborough University’s international reputation, while promoting the campus’ metropolitan location, over 100 miles from its parent institution.

Paul Sculthorpe, director at Rock Kitchen Harris, commented: “Not only did we need to build a website that was easy to use and visually appealing, but we also had to ensure it communicated LUiL’s values. We wanted the website to show how both UK and international students will have access to world-class facilities and world-leading academics.” 

Taking cues from the LUiL prospectus and opting for a simple, yet striking design, Rock Kitchen Harris worked closely with the University team to ensure the style and structure of the new website reflects the emerging brand of Loughborough University in London. uses clean, modern lines and high-quality photography to show how the University will maximise the opportunities offered by its metropolitan location. 

To simplify management of the website and reduce ongoing costs, Rock Kitchen Harris also developed a full-featured Content Management System that enables the University team to easily keep the site up to date. Flexible page templates allow staff at LUiL to create bespoke and visually interesting site pages with minimal training whilst retaining a strong look and feel throughout.
