New Chief Operating Officer at Leeds Trinity University

Phill Dixon arrives with a wealth of experience in both the public and private sectors

Leeds Trinity University has announced the appointment of Phill Dixon as Chief Operating Officer.

Joining the University after 15 years at Sheffield Hallam University, Phill will work closely with Vice-Chancellor Professor Margaret A House to ensure that the University continues to provide outstanding, student-centred higher education.

Previously Director of Human Resources at Sheffield Hallam, Phill helped shape the strategic direction of the University as well as taking on substantive change projects across professional service and academic areas. Before specialising in higher education, Phill worked in both public and private sectors.

Phill has a strong commitment to higher education and a deep knowledge of the sector

Phill said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be joining Leeds Trinity University and I have been very impressed with the University’s recent performance. Being ranked sixth nationally and top in Yorkshire for teaching quality in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2018 – as well as being top in Yorkshire for employability and overall student satisfaction – are fantastic achievements. These, coupled with outstanding results in the National Student Survey, demonstrate what is special about studying at Leeds Trinity. I am very much looking forward to building on its successes and exploring opportunities to maintain and enhance our existing performance.”

Phill will be responsible for Human Resources, Estates and Facilities, Marketing, Recruitment and Admissions, Information Technology, and Library and Information services.

Professor Margaret A House, Vice-Chancellor at Leeds Trinity University, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Phill at such an exciting time in the development of our University. Phill has a strong commitment to higher education and a deep knowledge of the sector. I am very much looking forward to working with him as we build on the continued success of our University.”
