Leicester praise from Game of Thrones star

Will Tudor discusses his memories of studying at the University of Leicester in latest podcast

Game of Thrones and Humans star and University of Leicester graduate Will Tudor has discussed his roles in the critically-acclaimed TV programmes and his time as a student at the University, describing his experience studying English Literature and performing in a number of plays as an active member of Leicester University Theatre (LUT).

Will attended the University of Leicester between 2005-2008. Wanting to be an actor from a young age, Will naturally gravitated towards LUT, performing in a number of plays during his time at Leicester – including Dr Faustus, My Fair Lady and Alice in Wonderland, to name a few. He also directed a production of King Lear in his final year, which he describes as a great and rewarding experience.

‘I really plunged myself into the world of LUT,’ Will says in the interview. ‘It was so rewarding – it was my favourite thing to do.

‘What was lovely about LUT is that it’s such an active society with some really great people, and I met friends there who I’m sure I’ll be friends with for the rest of my life. The people in it really cared about it and the productions they created.’

Will is perhaps best known for playing Olyvar in HBO’s Game of Thrones and Odi in Channel 4’s Humans. Will reprises his role in Humans Series 2 later this year and has a role in an upcoming film called Tomorrow, executive produced by Martin Scorsese.

During the interview Will said:’I look back on the whole University experience very fondly and it really allowed me to try things out and to explore myself. It was a really good time.’
