The partnership brings about the creation of a unique, one-year foundation programme for international students wishing to progress to undergraduate study at ULaw.
The intensive one-year course provides international high-achievers with a stepping stone to ULaw’s two and three year undergraduate programmes. The pathway course enables students to progress quickly and will include opportunities to apply for work placements and mentoring schemes within the UK legal community.
On announcing the partnership, James Pitman, Managing Director, Higher Education UK and Europe for Study Group, says: “We are delighted to announce this milestone partnership with the UK’s premier specialist institution for legal studies; our first with a private HE institution. English law is preeminent in international business and these new programmes will provide students with access to legal careers with world-leading international law firms.”
Study Group is a global leader in international education, providing educational opportunities for twenty years to over 50,000 students from 145 countries every year including English language training and specialised career streams.
John Latham, President and Chief Executive Officer for the University of Law, comments: “Our agreement with Study Group gives international students the unique opportunity to undertake a pathway course to undergraduate programmes at the UK’s largest law school. Through the partnership, we will enable the best performing students to complete an undergraduate course in three years – one less year than other providers.”
The University of Law is the largest provider of professional legal education and training in the world. Previously The College of law, it was granted university title in November 2012.
The first intake of international students to the Bloomsbury based International Study Centre will take place in September 2015.
