The University of Kent in Canterbury has won Group Travel Organiser’s ‘Best University Accommodation for Groups’ award for the eighth year in a row.
Comedian Hal Cruttenden and Abbie Bates, Managing Editor of Group Travel Organiser magazine, presented the award to the University of Kent team at the special Group Travel Awards evening at the London Hilton Park Lane this June.
The University of Kent has now won the award every year since 2008 and once again fought off stiff competition from the seven other universities shortlisted this year (the universities of Cardiff, Canterbury Christ Church, Durham, Essex, Exeter, Leeds, Leicester). Readers of Group Travel Organiser magazine vote for the award.
Kevin Stuckey, Residences & Conferences Manager, commented: “The award is all the more special because it is our clients who vote for us year after year and it is wonderful recognition from them that we are offering a winning combination of a consistently high standard of quality accommodation at a very realistic price together with excellent customer service delivered by our dedicated staff. Our policy to continuously invest in both our accommodation and catering services ensures we deliver the group product they require and consequently we achieve a very high level of client satisfaction and in turn significant repeat business year-on-year.’
The completion of the brand new Turing College this summer increases the University’s accommodation to a total of 5,400 bedrooms (over 50% ensuite). This will include over 550 ensuite double bedrooms, which are particularly important for group operators.
