Broadclyst Community Primary School (BCPS) in Exeter, rated outstanding by Ofsted, now benefits from a new building that includes a refectory area and ample room for a multitude of other activities.
Style, nine times winner of the FIS Gold Contractors Award, was specified to deliver a moveable wall solution that would make best use of the new facility. Delivering exceptional acoustic privacy between divided areas, two DORMA Variflex sliding partitioning walls can be quickly and easily moved into place by staff, allowing the hall to be reconfigured so that concurrent activities can run without disrupting each other.
Funded by a central government grant, the new hall delivers a dining facility that includes a professional catering kitchen, an impressive climbing wall as well as space for PE, assemblies, and various community activities.
Working on the project with architect, NPS South West, and contractor, Midas Construction, Style recommended DORMA Variflex as it is a highly adaptable system that can easily accommodate the high ceilings of the hall.
“Variflex is a superb product that works brilliantly in almost any location,” confirms Julian Sargent, Style’s group managing director. “The dividing partition offers sound reduction up to Rw 60 dB, which means excellent privacy for groups using the space, as well as a 30-minute fire rating. Finally, the panels are manufactured separately to the frame which means they are interchangeable and easy to swap if one is damaged or scuffed in the busy school environment.”
