Six scholarships worth £3,000 each are available for students applying to commence their studies in autumn 2016.
Two scholarships of £3,000 are available to all Master’s and Postgraduate Diploma applicants. A further four ‘Diversity Scholarships’, each of £3,000 are open to UK applicants from backgrounds that are underrepresented in the UK museum sector.
The aim of our diversity scholarships is to encourage more people from the UK from underrepresented backgrounds to consider a career in museums and galleries and apply for and participate in museum studies training
Head of School of Museum Studies, Dr Suzanne MacLeod, said: “The aim of our diversity scholarships is to encourage more people from the UK from underrepresented backgrounds to consider a career in museums and galleries and apply for and participate in museum studies training. Our open scholarships are open to all applicants across our campus-based and flexible learning programmes.
“Scholarships will be assessed on the overall quality of an application, paying particular attention to the applicant’s personal statement. Assessors will look specifically at how well applicants describe their ambitions in undertaking the programme, and how they link their current responsibilities or future career aspirations to the content and learning outcomes of the programme.”
The deadline for applications is Thursday 30 June.
