Management at the Filey Road site is seeing a greater return on investment year on year, with organisations from across the UK enjoying its unique seaside facilities.
The latest business wins have seen the centre providing conference facilities for the University of Leeds, Yorkshire Water and Flying Futures – a Community Interest Company delivering the National Citizen Service programme.
A renewed focus has been placed on promoting the facilities of the on-campus conference centre, combined with the picturesque and historic setting to the small and medium-sized conference market.
The site also offers the innovative option of hybrid conferences, enabling e-delegates to join the event from anywhere in the world, seeing the same presentations and able to interact with both speakers and other delegates.
Plans for further investment in the centre are also helping to drive new and repeat conference business.
The centre offers delegates an experience they’re unlikely to get at many more traditional conference locations. This includes the use of a state-of-the-art 3G sports pitch, theatre-style performance studios as well as fully-equipped science laboratories.
It is the latest chapter in the history of the Scarborough campus site, which has been used for educational purposes since 1909 and remains an important part of the town’s economy, culture and heritage.
