Aston University announces KTP collaboration with facilities management company

The Knowledge Transfer Partnership will see Arcus FM recruit a PhD graduate to help drive efficiencies in the organisation

Aston University has announced a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with facilities management company, Arcus FM.

KTPs are a part-government-funded initiative designed to encourage collaboration between UK businesses and universities. Graduates work with a business to lead a strategic project, while the university offers academic advice, expertise and research facilities.

The tie-up between Aston and Arcus FM will see the latter recruit a PhD graduate specialising in data analytics and computer science, the better to drive efficiencies in the company

“The project will apply machine learning, game theory and optimisation techniques to enhance Arcus’ utilisation of resources,” said David Lane, head of technology and innovation at Arcus.

“[It will enable] our business to deliver a sector-leading level of service and efficiency for our clients.”
