UK and Ireland’s best student accommodation revealed, as voted for by students

Announcing the winners of the National Student Housing Awards in the UK and Ireland, including a new category in student wellbeing

Red Brick Research are thrilled to partner with University Business in announcing the winners of 2019’s National Student Housing Awards. Fourteen awards were up for grabs in the UK and five in Ireland, including a brand-new ‘best student wellbeing’ award in both territories.

This year, there were more finalists in each UK awards category than ever before, recognising the growing nature of the National Student Housing Survey (NSHS) and the great work being done by student accommodation providers across the board.

Over 40,000 student responses were received in the National Student Housing Survey for UK and Ireland during the 2018/19 academic year, a new record for the survey. This year has also seen the launch of Shifting Foundations, the landmark report on 10 years of NSHS data, providing insights into the trends and factors affecting student accommodation in that time and what implications this has for the future.

Sarah Jones, NSHS project lead, said: “Congratulations to all our 2019 winners. The winners are determined entirely through student feedback – and there’s no panel of judges more informed or important than the students that they serve. Through our innovative tracking, benchmarking and reporting options, the NSHS has helped to raise the bar on student accommodation across the UK and Ireland, and these providers have gone above and beyond to meet these rising standards. I hope HEI and PBSA teams across the UK and Ireland take a moment to mark their achievements.”
