Derby’s Cathedral Court to offer 350 student spaces

Derby University to open new hall of residence in Cathedral Quarter

The University of Derby’s Student Living service – Derby Student Residences Limited (DSRL) – will be opening a brand new hall of residence in September 2016.

Cathedral Court, which is currently being built, will be situated on Cathedral Road in Derby opposite Queen’s Leisure Centre and will offer the latest in premium student accommodation for more than 350 students.

The premium en-suite and adapted rooms will have three-quarter sized beds, large kitchens and social spaces with televisions and sofas. The location will also give students easy access to the city centre while still being near the University Quarter.

The project is on schedule to hand over in August 2016 ready for the September student intake

The new accommodation is the latest addition in DSRL’s portfolio of properties, which includes student halls on Bridge Street, Agard Street, Lodge Lane, Nuns Street and Ashbourne Road.

Mark Travers, Operations Director at DSRL, said: “We’ve had a lot of interest from parents and prospective students in this new hall and we’re delighted to be able to offer more premium bed spaces to our students. We’re constantly refining and adapting our offer to suit market needs and Cathedral Court is part of that overall plan.”

The University of Derby’s Student Living team will be taking applications for Cathedral Court and its other halls from January 2016.
