Durham University lands top MSC foodservice award for 2015

Durham University has won the Marine Stewardship Council University of the Year award, for its tireless promotion of certified sustainable fish and seafood to their students.

Their involvement in the successful MSC #fishface campaign at the university proved a great example to the sector.

A special mention goes to Executive Chef, John Turner whose promotion of MSC seafood at the university and the #fishface fish and chip event for Durham students attracted enormous support and fantastic student feedback.

George Clark, UK Commercial Manager at the MSC said: “Competition this year has been particularly tough in some categories, so we congratulate our new winners this year, as they have made enormous efforts to reach the top. Reaching the top is hard, but to remain there amid strong competition shows a long-term commitment that is supporting sustainable fishing and helping to drive change at sea.”
