Presidents Award for Sheffield Head

The gong was in recognition of David McKown's contribution to higher education training across the UK

David McKown, Head of Training & Quality, Accommodation and Commercial Services at the University of Sheffield, has won the Presidents Award at the British Culinary Federation Annual Awards.

The award was in recognition of his contribution to the University of Sheffield and higher education training across the UK.

Initiatives such as the annual Skills for Chefs Conference and UK Young Restaurant Team of the Year Competition were spotlighted as examples of his commitment and dedication to raise the profile of the hospitality industry and the university sector.

David commented: “I was honoured and thrilled to be presented with this award and I would like to thank everyone involved.”

The awards dinner took place at the newly opened Edgbaston Park Hotel and Conferences Centre at the University of Birmingham.
