HobSafe at home in any kitchen

Sponsored: The quality of accommodation plays an important part in helping students feel at home when starting their new, exciting educational chapter

Many universities are moving away from the old model of catered halls to accommodation with en-suite and self-catering facilities that provide a more independent living experience.

Prefect Controls have been manufacturing control systems specifically designed for student accommodation for many years and last year launched the all-new HobSafe timer which ensures hobs cannot be left on should the cook be distracted.

2017 sees HobSafe available also as a two-gang HORIZONTAL unit to complement the more streamlined horizontal isolator switches being fitted in many student kitchenettes.

Both tamper-proof models include factory-set 15-, 20-, 30- or 45-minute run times, LED operation light and a re-set button for extended use, and due to large terminals making them less fiddly to fit, are a favourite with electricians.
