Henley Business School and EY to offer apprenticeships
School announces a strategic collaboration with global professional services firm EY to design and deliver apprenticeship programmes for UK businesses
Henley Business School’s alliance with global professional services firm, EY, is one of the first of its kind to help companies upskill their workforce, utilise their Apprenticeship Levy contributions and support the Government’s aim to create three million apprenticeship places by 2020.
The collaboration will aim to help UK businesses offer their employees degree apprenticeships across all levels of their organisation.
The apprenticeship courses will combine traditional academia with workshops, digital learning and on-the-job experience, enabling apprentices to study whilst working.
Professor John Board, Dean of Henley Business School, said: “Apprenticeships can offer a valuable opportunity for employees to underpin professional experience with academic theory based in a real world environment, with tangible results which can greatly benefit both businesses and their workers. The strategic collaboration with EY underlines our shared values and ongoing commitment to delivering programmes of the highest possible calibre, which not only provide a powerful development experience to employees, but also address the strategic workforce challenges faced by organisations in the UK.”
One of the first Apprenticeship courses to be offered, under the Henley EY collaboration, will be the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship (CMDA) – a standard led by industry and the Chartered Management Institute. The course, which combines a degree with on-the-job experience, will help managers to develop leadership skills and follow a professional pathway for future development that includes Chartered Manager Status on completion.
