Annual conference to focus on uncertain future

The 5th annual UHS Conference will put an uncertain future for commercial operators within HE under the spotlight

The one-day conference – Commercial Business in HE, Working in Uncertain Times, takes place at the headquarters of Pinsent Masons in London on 2 November and a stellar line up of speakers are assembled.

David McKown, Director of UHS, commented: 'When designing the programme we decided that one of the conference sessions should explore the ‘Impact of Brexit’ and we are delighted to have secured Nicola Bradfield, Senior Associate, Universities Practice at Pinsent Masons, who is specialising in this area.” 

Professor Paul White OBE, Emeritus Deputy Vice Chancellor, University of Sheffield will open the debate with his own views on how we respond to change and challenge.

The conference is aimed at Directors of Commercial Services, Estates, Accommodation and Conferencing across the HE sector, and is a great opportunity to learn from both the public and private sector is a key feature of the day.

Trevor Humphreys, Director of Estates and Facilities at the University of Surrey will be presenting on the eagerly awaited topic of 'Developing Your Estate for Commercial Business'. Trevor has worked in higher education estates for nearly 30 years and he is currently leading a major change programme to align service delivery with the needs of a highly successful University.

Trevor is also the Chair of the Association of University Directors of Estates ( AUDE) and he brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the conference.

Other speakers include Raj Verma: Sodexo Global Universities, Antony Guy:  Velresco Consultancy, Tom White: Cable Com, Simon Horniblow: Campus Life and the conference will be chaired by Professor David Russell: The Russell Partnership.
