Anglia Ruskin University wins Lloyds Business Award

Anglia Ruskin University were named winners of the Duke of York University Entrepreneurship Award at the Lloyds Business Awards

Anglia Ruskin University were named winners of the Duke of York University Entrepreneurship Award at the 2016 Lloyds Bank National Business Awards gala dinner ceremony, held at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane. This award recognises the work of universities to encourage, prepare and enable entrepreneurial opportunities, distinguishing those doing and delivering the most.  

Anglia Ruskin is one of the largest universities in the East of England, and has been open for 157 years. Professor Lesley Dobree, Deputy Vice Chancellor at Anglia Ruskin University said, “It will be a huge boost to everyone at Anglia Ruskin who has been involved in this type of work. There’s a large number of SME’s in our part of East Anglia, we’ve developed skills over a number of years and we are particularly proud of it.”

The judges felt that Anglia Ruskin University have injected enterprise and innovation throughout the curriculum whilst working in partnership with key stakeholders. Their commitment to entrepreneurship and fostering a driven culture has led to initiatives such as the MedTech Campus, one of the world’s largest health innovation spaces.

It will be a huge boost to everyone at Anglia Ruskin who has been involved in this type of work. There’s a large number of SME’s in our part of East Anglia, we’ve developed skills over a number of years and we are particularly proud of it - Professor Lesley Dobree

Over 1200 business leaders, entrepreneurs, politicians and media representatives gathered at the Grosvenor House Hotel for the 15th annual National Business Awards, and together celebrated the Best of British Ambition. The Awards were presented by BBC Breakfasts Louise Minchin and welcomed Lord William Hague as headline speaker.
