With the first delivery against the frameworks from October 2016, the contracts awarded allow us to purchase over £600m of energy on behalf of our members. And the benefits of the new experience and skills within the TEC team paid immediate dividends, with 100% of members committed under the previous framework joining the new one, and then over 99% of the energy supply points transferred to the new suppliers as scheduled on the framework start date, an almost unprecedented result for a portfolio of over 5,500 supplies.
So perhaps these were factors which saw TEC confirmed Energy Buying Team of the Year at the prestigious Energy Awards during November 2016.
It was a huge achievement for us. Entered into the larger team category and beating off stiff competition from some notably larger and more commercial organisations it truly is recognition of our commitment to deliver a groundbreaking framework for flexible purchase of gas and power. We are sure that our unique approach to ensuring members were central to all aspects of the process and awarding of the winning frameworks went some way to support the decision by the judges to give this award to the TEC team.
